Abstract

ABSTRACT
Mangrove plants are getting badly needed since the number of them is decreased about 5% especially in
coastal area while the amount of land is getting increased, in order to overcome land and effective plants in
coastal area, Green Open Space is needed which is done through alternative technology model approach of
coastal environmental conservation suitable and environmentally friendly oriented for sustainable development.
The direct benefit obtained in this study / research is as a substitute reference of mangrove for alternative plants
and the spreading extent of Green Open Space as an effective plants treatment to overcome environmental
pollution and a recommendation material to determine the environmental balance of urban coastal area. The
specific purpose of this study is that it can minimize air pollution and determine the CO2 absorption emissions of
alternative plants, in this case it is also as equipment and emissiontesting devices supply of coastal plants to the
spreading extent of Green Open Space of coastal areas. As for the method used, Simple Linier Regression
analysis method (Matjik, 2002) is theone used to determine alternative technology of alternative plants
treatment, as well as emission effect and the value of CO2 absorption in one room (plant testing house) from
tarpaulin material with transparent plastic on model placement of Green Open Spaceand its spreading with the
help of sunlight orientation. The results of the field and Lab research shows that alternative plants (Young and
Old Coastal Pandanus) turn out that Young Pandanus has bigger CO2 absorption rate which is 266.76 Gr/leaf/
liter, concentration rate (ppm) is smaller about 1.30% for comparative plants, Acassia has bigger CO2
absorption rate which is about 5.295 kg/tree/year compared to Mahoni plants which is smaller about 2.957
kg/tree/year and Trembesi is about 2.844 kg/tree/year in which the condition of this testing plant is affected by
more pleasant room temperature (increased by about 1-3oC).
Key words : Plants selection, Photosynthesis, Plants alternative, CO2 absorption
