Abstract

The  stove  is  a  fire-producing  device  to  heat  an  object.  Heating  solid  objects  can  be  done directly  on  the  fire  or  indirectly  on  the  fire  or  indirectly  by  using  the  media  stove.  The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding copper wire to the stove wick on the  performance  of  a  used  cooking  oil  stove  with  a  mixture  of  kerosene.  This  research procedure is divided into several stages, namely first assembling the used cooking oil stove wick,  then  testing  the  results  of  the  effect  of  adding  copper  wire  to  the  used  cooking  oil stove wick with a mixture of kerosene. From the results of tests carried out from the results of data analysis, namely the addition of each copper wire the average temperature is always changing as well as the time. In this study, a good average temperature or it could be said that the temperature increased, namely the addition of one copper wire. So the addition of copper  wire  in  this  study  greatly  affects  the  temperature  of  the  stove's  flame.  The characteristic  of  the  flame  produced  by  mixing  used  cooking  oil  and  kerosene  is  reddish yellow  in  color.  The  characteristics  of  the  flame  produced  by  mixing  used  cooking  oil  and kerosene are reddish yellow with a maximum height of 11 cm - 15 cm in each percentage of the mixture.
